Sheanna's Gate by Meloncov Sheanna's Gate by Meloncov
This took an absurd amount of time. Even my art teachers have decided I'm cracy for doing this. And yes, I did draw every single building all the way back to the far wall, though you can't see them at the resolution of the photo.

Eventually I'm going to use this in a two-page spread, with text on the right and the seam being the meeting place for the pages.

For some reason, it makes me think of some scene from the Holy Lands in the Middle Ages, or something.

Awesome, I hope they have a good navy in that city because it is their only vulnerability, LOL.

There navy is pretty respectable, but it's the wizards with weather control spells that are the real deterrent.

That will do it. I wouldn't mess with a wizard from the water.

I adore the city in the background
How big is this? you may want to scan it in parts and re-up

About three feet by two feet. Scanning would be difficult, but eventually I will do a photo with better lighting.

Okay, it is possible, but it took twelve sections and way more than 10 mins post work.

I'm pretty sure I'd have to either cut the thing up or remove the lid to my scanner to get it to work.

So, I noticed that the colors pretty much appeared overnight, did you finally get tired of meticulous work?

I spent about eight hours over the course of five days on the colors. I'd always planned to color it using broad washes.

Really?
hmm... I definitely thought it had no color the day before the art show when I saw it... maybe I was hallucinating?

I started adding color on Monday, so you might be thinking of seeing it at some earlier time.
